Studio Philosophy

This studio aims to not only create an environment for students to discover and grow musically, but to experience the incomparable rewards that comes with the journey!

Our studio philosophy is centered around step-by-step guidance alongside a personalized approach to each individual student. My teachings are inspired in part by the Suzuki method of first “listening and watching.” I also believe in using other traditional methods in parallel, catering to the needs, interests, and learning styles of my students. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, I emphasize creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel empowered to explore and develop their musical interests and abilities at their own pace.

I offer many different opportunities for my students to learn how to listen to, perform, read, write, and love music.  Our weekly lessons are conducted in a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere where students are given the opportunity to practice and grow independently outside of the studio with access to all materials and music necessary to achieve their musical goals alongside their personal instrument. With that, ensuring that the student has access to their instrument at home in an environment that welcomes musical exploration is the most crucial supporting factor in their success.

More than anything, I want my students to enjoy making music!  I want to make the study of music as inspiring to my students as it was to me when I took lessons.  I was extremely lucky to have many amazing teachers. I learned from them that music lessons teaches beyond making music, as it opens so many doors to enhancing and expanding many important life skills: Communication, organization, coordination, self-discipline, attentiveness, patience, creativity, confidence, and joy!
